Beyond-Adoption-Web-CroppedTapestry is venturing in a new and exciting direction with a new venture called Beyond Adoption.  Beyond Adoption is a strategic global orphan care initiative that will allow us to serve children and communities worldwide.  This effort is dedicated to providing tangible help and hope to orphans and vulnerable children through education, spiritual growth, medical care, and training, all while sharing and showing the love of Christ.

It is no surprise that Tapestry is passionate and committed to adoption.  But as wonderful and powerful as adoption is, we also know that the vast majority of orphans and vulnerable children around the world will never be adopted, nor is adoption necessarily what is even best for them.  Likewise, many people are not called to adopt, but everyone can take up the cause of the fatherless and make themselves available to serve in important ways.

Beyond Adoption is committed to help those orphans that will never be adopted, and is an opportunity to engage and mobilize those who care to serve and be God’s hands extended to build up strong communities and bring healing to these precious children.

Our initial projects are in Western Bungoma, Kenya and Chimaltenango, Guatemala.  We are thrilled to be partnering with Orphan Outreach to provide tangible help to these communities.

Beyond Adoption believes strongly in James 1:27 that reminds us that caring for orphans and vulnerable children is the essence of pure and faultless religion.  While this includes adoption, we believe that we must go “beyond adoption” to respond to the needs of the world’s orphans.  We believe that we are called by Jesus Christ to love and serve these children and that together we can make a lasting difference in their lives and their communities.

So we invite you to join us as Tapestry moves Beyond Adoption.
