Created To Connect Discussion Group

By: - May 26, 2011

The Connected Child, co-authored by Dr. Karyn Purvis, has become one of the most helpful and encouraging books for adoptive and foster parents in helping them understand how to compassionately and effectively deal with the challenges that they and their children face. Last year, Dr. Purvis together with Amy & Michael Monroe wrote Created To Connect: A Christian’s Guide to The Connected Child. The study guide serves as a companion to The Connected Child, following it chapter-by-chapter and highlighting the biblical foundation that supports the principles and strategies that are explained in the book.

This summer, Amy Monroe will host a six-week discussion group for adoptive and foster moms and moms-to-be to work through the Created To Connect Study Guide. This group will meet each Thursday evening, from June 23rd through July 28th, from 6:30 to 8:30 pm, in the Commons Annex at Irving Bible Church. Free childcare for ages birth through 5th grade is available with advanced registration. Training credits will also be available.

The only cost to participate is the cost to purchase The Connected Child (which is available on Amazon.com). The Created To Connect Study Guide is available free online, or printed and bound copies can be purchased at the first meeting for $7.95 each.

All adoptive and foster moms and moms-to-be are invited participate in this discussion group, which is sure to be helpful and encouraging to all women who are on the adoption or foster care journey. All women are encouraged to plan to attend all six sessions.

If you plan to participate in this discussion group, please RSVP to Amy Monroe at tapestry@irvingbible.org. But hurry, space is limited.
