Join us for this month’s Lunch and Learn as we welcome guest speaker, Dr. melody Aguayo. Our topic will be: When Trauma and Puberty Meet: How to Help Your Child. Puberty for a child with self-regulation issues looks different than it does for a typical child. Families often feel isolated and aren’t sure what is “alarming” behavior and what behavior is expected. This session will help families navigate those concerns.
Parents will have practical suggestions on dealing with puberty in their at-risk child as well as a better idea of when to seek help for their child’s sexual behaviors.
Dr. Melody Aguayo is the founder of Real Child Consulting, which specializes in consulting with families and organizations that caretake “at-risk” kids. She has a Doctorate in Psychology and a Masters in Marriage and Family Therapy. She is an adoptive parent and has dedicated her professional career to learning more about how to help at-risk kids thrive and how to guide parents into connection in spite of difficult behaviors. You won’t want to miss this opportunity to interact with Dr. Aguayo!
