Empowered To Connect (ETC) Parent Training is a learning experience designed specifically for adoptive and foster parents. The ETC Parent Training was developed by Empowered To Connect and is based upon the Trust-Based Relational Intervention® (TBRI®) model developed by Dr. Karyn Purvis and her colleagues at TCU at the Karyn Purvis Institute of Child Development.
The cost for the training is $150 per family, which includes materials and required resources. Married couples are required to attend together and singles are encouraged to attend with a support team member. Class sizes are limited. Training credits are available for foster parents who complete the training. The Connect Course meets for nine consecutive weeks.
The Connect Course is designed for parents who have already adopted and/or are currently fostering. The course will be led by Paul and Diane Anderson and will be held on Thursday nights from 6:30-8:30, starting on February 16th. This class will meet in The Training Center at Irving Bible Church. Childcare will be provided for ages 3 months through 5th grade.
