You are invited to join our online community gathering! Community Gatherings are a place of authentic community and learning for adoptive, foster, and kinship families at all stages of the parenting journey.
It seems early to think about it, but setting our families up to succeed over the holidays requires us to be proactive. That’s why our topic for this month is Preparing for the Holidays.
The holiday season is a time when there are lots of expectations about how things should go. We have expectations about what will happen, who we will see, gift given and gotten, traditions (new and old)…and so do our kids. Whether it is their first holiday with us or the 15th, we need to spend time evaluating and talking about expectations. Are our expectations realistic? Can we live up to them? Can our kids? What about the expectations of family and friends?
Let’s chat about ways to set proper boundaries, educate the family, and prepare to protect our kids and not our pride.
In an effort to still be cautious during this season of Covid-19 we will continue to meet online.
Come for great teaching addressing all of these things and more followed by discussions with others from your area.
We’ll have the following DFW groups represented:
We also have our ‘e-community’ for those outside of the DFW area that are looking for community!
Training certificates are available for those who need them.
